As the Internets chit chat about WorldStarhiphop.com's website being down, one man is claiming responsibility. Earlier today 50 cent tweeted "I don't know why people underestimate me. I just shut down WORLDSTAR for future advertising contact thisis50.com suckers lol." Seems as if 50 isn't playing games after various other hip-hop websites dropped following a ICE Government investigation. Check out the Feb/March issue of The Source Magazine on stands this month with a full in-depth story of the Hip-Hop vs. Homeland Security story.
This isn't 50 cent's first issue with the website. Back in 2009 50 Cent stated, "I gotta lawsuit against WorldStar for utilizing my likeness....A lot of people felt like that was my site because they seen my face on the cover of [the website] for a long time.” He's fearless and relentless when it comes to business and his image. When the issue began 2 years ago 50 vowed, "I have lawyers on retainers and I have to pay them so much money anyway, so we’ll go back and forth to court until [they] can’t afford a Subway sandwich. It’s already too late for [them].” You can't blame him right?
"WorldStar was not shut down due to Homeland Security or ICE, the site is just experiencing technical difficulties," Miatta David, representative for WSHH told MTV, "It's just an overload on the site due to traffic." Details will follow pertaining to 50 cent and WorldStarHipHop.com. "No site is safe, I predict 2 more web sites will shut down this week. Take a guess who they are. I'm sick of the hate I'm too strong, 50 noted." Who's next?
